What Makes a Good Website Designer?

Websites today are the modern equivalent of the trusty business card. After all, if a prospective client wants to know more about a company’s products and services, the first thing he or she will do is to Google that company.

Given the consumers’ reliance on the Internet for information, all businesses must have an engaging website that will serve as the first point of contact with potential customers. Of course, entrepreneurs may know a lot about running a business, but very little (if any) about website design.

Fortunately, they can hire a website designer to create or update their site. Note, however, that not all web designers are made equal. Below are the traits of a stellar one:

They Listen

Web designers have one goal: to make a client happy. Hence, the designer or firm you choose must show willingness to listen to your needs so they can create a website that will boost your bottom line.

They’re Creative

You approach a web designer with this problem: “My website isn’t as good as it could be, how do I make it better?” A good website designer must be able to provide creative solutions to this dilemma.

They’re Technically Proficient

Your designer must be skilled at coding HTML, designing CSS layouts, creating visuals for your website, and working with multimedia. In other words, they should be like a Swiss knife, a master of all things web design.
